Staff clock in on their own phones at the site, with location recorded. Attendance, leave, overtime and annual leave all calculate together, so month-end reconciliation stops being a manual exercise. The system now runs on the client's own servers, maintained by the client.

The challenge
A physical time clock creates two problems: a queue at each end of the day, and field staff who never walk past the machine at all. The bigger cost arrives at month-end, when punch records, leave forms and overtime forms have to be reconciled by hand into working hours - and any mistake means going back through the month one day at a time.

Staff punch in on their own device with location recorded, so there is no queue at a fixed machine and field staff are covered too.
Attendance, leave, overtime and annual leave in one calculation
All four live in the same data and resolve together, rather than three separate sheets someone reconciles manually. Approved leave and overtime flow straight into the hours.
Working-hour definitions agreed with the client, then encoded
Overtime counts the approved form's raw hours; total hours are punched hours plus overtime. The definitions were confirmed with the client before being written into the system, and the one known overlap case is stated on screen rather than left for accounting to discover.
Date-range reporting
Export any start and end date, in either a row-per-day or a row-per-person format for different readers, with quick presets so nobody picks dates by hand every month.
Handed over for the client to run
Deployment and rollback are packaged as double-clickable files, so updating or reverting needs no engineer. The system now runs entirely on the client's own hardware.
